Our nurses and caregivers come to houses along the lagoon, on the side roads off US-1 and toward the seashore. Oak Hill is small, and we come anyway, on the same schedule as everywhere else.

The town
A fishing town on the lagoon, and the care that suits Oak Hill
Oak Hill is a small town at the south end of Volusia County, strung along US-1 between the railroad and Mosquito Lagoon. It has been a fishing village for a century and it still feels like one. Boat ramps and fish camps on the water, older frame and block houses on big lots under the oaks, and a few newer homes on the side roads west of the highway. South of town the road runs into Canaveral National Seashore and ends. People here have mostly been here a long time. They know their neighbours, they do not want to move up to Daytona, and they do not want a different stranger at the door each week.
