The rate card
How much does home care cost in Edgewater
These are the 2026 rates for every kind of care we give across Volusia County. The same rate applies in Edgewater, New Smyrna Beach, Port Orange or DeLand. There is no quote call. The free in-home visit turns the rate into an exact weekly price for your mother or father, and Tom puts that price in writing the same day.
What does hourly care cost
Hourly care, weekdays
Personal care, companion care and homemaker care, Monday to Friday. 4-hour minimum per visit. The same rate from 4 hours a week to 12 hours a day.
Hourly care, weekends and holidays
The same care on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. 4-hour minimum per visit. The same caregiver who comes in the week, where the schedule allows.
What does overnight and 24-hour care cost
Overnight, awake caregiver
12 hours. A caregiver who stays awake all night, helps with the bathroom, the pills and the wandering, and is there if someone falls.
24-hour care in shifts
2 or 3 caregivers in shifts, so someone awake is in the house every hour of the day and night. Priya oversees the plan.
Live-in care
1 caregiver who lives in the house, with a sleep period at night and breaks in the day. For people who need company and help, but not an awake caregiver all night.
What do nursing visits and the hospital to home program cost
Skilled nursing visit, RN or LPN
About an hour at the house. Medication setup, injections, wound care, catheter care, vital signs, checks for diabetes, heart failure and COPD.
Hospital to home, 30-day program
The first 30 days after a hospital or rehab stay. Includes 3 nurse visits, the first within 24 hours of discharge, and 40 caregiver hours.
What does it cost to start
In-home assessment
Priya or Dana comes to the house within 24 hours of your call. You get a written plan of care and an exact price the same day. Nothing to sign on the spot.
Deposit, contract and setup fee
No deposit, no contract and no setup fee. Stop any time with 48 hours notice. You pay for the hours you use, weekly.
How people pay
How do families pay for home care
3 ways. Most of our families pay privately. Many have a long-term care policy they have paid into for years and have never used. Veterans and their surviving spouses may have help they do not know about.
Private pay, weekly
You pay by card or bank draft once a week for the hours used that week. The invoice lists each visit, the caregiver, the hours and the rate. Tom sends it, and Tom answers the phone if a line on it does not make sense.
Long-term care insurance
We bill the insurer for you. Tom reads the policy, confirms the daily benefit and the elimination period, sends the care notes the insurer asks for and chases the claim. You do not pay first and wait for a refund.
VA Aid and Attendance
Wartime veterans and their surviving spouses may qualify for a monthly pension that pays toward home care. We help you put the application together and we accept the benefit once it is approved.
Do you take Medicare or Medicaid
No. Our Home Healthcare is a private duty agency and we are not Medicare certified. Medicare does not pay for the care on this page. It covers short, doctor-ordered home health visits after an illness, and it does not cover a caregiver for bathing, meals, nights or company. We do not take Florida Medicaid either. If your mother is on Medicaid and needs a caregiver, call us anyway. Jordan will tell you which Medicaid waiver program and which local agency to ask, and that call is free.
What this means for you is simple. The prices above are the prices you pay, from your own money, a long-term care policy or the VA. Nobody at Our Home Healthcare will tell you that Medicare pays for it.
Included in the rate
What is included in every hour of care
$32 an hour buys more than a caregiver. These 4 things come with every client, including companion-only clients, and none of them is a line on the invoice.
A nurse case manager
Priya Ramnath, RN, writes the plan of care and visits the house at least every 30 days. She is the person you call when something changes. Her visits are part of the hourly rate, not a $95 nursing visit.
A trained backup caregiver
Every client has a primary caregiver and 1 backup who has already met the person and read the plan. If the primary caregiver is sick, the backup comes. You never get a stranger because someone called in.
The Family Portal
Tom sets you up on the day care starts. You see the schedule, who is coming, and the notes from every visit, from your phone, 2 hours away or in the next room.
No setup fee, no deposit
The in-home visit, the plan of care, the caregiver match and the first week of Jordan's calls cost nothing. You pay for care hours, weekly, and you can stop with 48 hours notice.
How the price is set
How do you know the exact price before care starts
The rate card gives you the hourly rate. The free in-home visit gives you the number. Priya or Dana comes to the house within 24 hours of your call, spends about an hour with your mother and with you, and writes the plan of care. The plan says which days, how many hours and what the caregiver does. Tom turns that into a weekly price and you have it in writing the same day. If you want 2 fewer hours or 1 more morning, the price changes with it, and there is nothing to sign on the spot.

What does a week of care usually cost
3 examples at the weekday rate of $32 an hour and the 24-hour rate of $720 a day. Your plan will differ, and so will the number.
a week for 3 mornings of 4 hours. 12 hours at $32. Help with the shower, breakfast and the pills on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
a week for 5 weekdays of 6 hours. 30 hours at $32. A caregiver from 8 am to 2 pm, Monday to Friday, with meals, a walk and a ride to the doctor.
a week for 24-hour care in shifts. 7 days at $720. Someone awake in the house around the clock, with Priya overseeing the plan.
